Uptown Vocal Jazz Quartet CD Release Party on November 20th

The Event Barn at Callie Opie’s Orchard provided the venue for a Release Party to celebrate the new CD from the internationally-acclaimed four-part harmony group “Uptown Vocal Jazz Quartet.”  The Christmas/Winter-themed album has just gone on sale and excerpts are being spotlighted on Sirius XM Radio.

Guitar Summit at Lake Anna Winery on November 19th

Guitarists Steve Herberman and Chris Whiteman entertained a full house at Lake Anna Winery on November 19th, with Paul Langosch backing them on bass.  On a chilly night, the winery’s tasting room presented a warm, intimate setting for listening to these world-class performers.

Cool Jazz After Dark at The Cooling Pond on November 13th

Tina Hashemi brought her unique vocal interpretations of jazz classics and standards of “The American Songbook” to Cooling Pond Brewery for a weekend nightclub setting, backed by the Lake Anna Jazz Quartet.  All of the instrumentalists in the ensemble are Louisa County residents: Tim Holmes (piano), Rich Johnston (tenor sax), David Smith (drums), and Robert McBride (bass).

The parking lot at Cooling Pond Brewery was overflowing, and the attendees were treated to marvelous performances from over 20 artists, covering many facets of jazz.

Johnson Stiles was the winner of the free 2021 “Jazzmaster” guitar, being presented here by Robert McBride, President of the Lake Anna Jazz organization.
